She finds calm and quite underneath a quilt made with colours and patterns. With the noise from the outside surrounding her she doses off. It can be a bit difficult to relax without the background noise.
In the background of the painting is written 'Sweet Little Devil'. That can refer to things around her but also to the struggle within.
The painting was done on top of a different picture of pastel water lillies. The series in which Julie paints on top pieces made by other artists is called 'Sweet Little Devil'.
