She sits on the curb and tries to stay warm. She is looking at something we can't see.
On a closer inspection the phone cannot be moved and it is not easy dialing a phonenumber.
This painting is about being in control or being guided by something else, being controlled or guided by others or by one's own patterns. To feel lost or on the threshold of something new. About the courage and insight to ask for help, the fragility of waiting for someone to pick up at the other end of the line. It is not easy.
A play on perspectives and the crude colouration is complimented by the delicate graphical lines in the tree trunks.
There are two paintings in this series denne serie.
Acrylic, coal, and mixed media on canvas.
