Her Wounds Came From the Same Source as Her Power - Giclée print, 40x60 cm
The title is inspired by a quote from by Adrienne Rich about Marie Curie. Curie was the first woman to receive a Nobel Prize (in Chemistry) in 1911 and she lived a difficult life. The quote is powerful, as it shows an insight which can be used constructively as opposed to the often-used expression: “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger”.
The resistance and the storms we have been through in our past are both our strengths and sources of pain. Her shelter is made by the rain that falls. Even if a little chaos finds its way underneath the umbrella, there is a calmness. So much so that she has enough energy to confidently tilt her head a bit.
