Jeanette
140x140 cm, acrylic on canvas.
Jeanette wanted a painting with herself in focus. She was happy with the vulnerability and frailty of the baby animals in Julie's pictures and chose a deer kid to symbolize that even a powerful woman has a soft spot and needs to be looked after from time to time. In addition, there is the string game Cats Cradle, which symbolizes everyday balance with practice, liver pate and laundry. And at the same time, the relationship -against all odds- also has to cope with an elephant on wheels, carried by a balloon. The balloon is held aloft by the song "I'm Your's" that her husband sang for her at their wedding. The 3 tights symbolize their 3 children, and the two girls are very busy dancing, which can be seen on the tulle skirts with cuffs on the arms.
Furthermore, the London Skyline, love trips and development, exercise and vanity are included in the painting. And Jeanette knows exactly what each and every element stands for.
