A painting about patterns and behaviour which provides us with a sense of comfort and safety. Habits are difficult to let go of because they are recognizable - even if they are not healthy or doing anything good for you.
On a closer inspection the girl's doll does not look too healthy either.
An insistent vintage-inspired chicken holds out a birthday card and has a party of one.
The painting is inspired by a photograph by the Cuban Alberto Korda. The photo was taken in Cuba during Batistas' rule of corruption and poverty. Korda was also the photographer of the world famous picture of the revolutionary Che Guevara.
